As usual, a new day started at the breakfast place. There are two things that I will miss about Taiwan, food like these and the Taipei Metro.
The route for the day was clear. We headed back to Taichung City.
We tried to stop by some local attractions. When we heard that there were hills to climb, we stayed at highway 3.
The weather was better. The wind stopped.
We needed to cross the same river but now a different bridge.
Even though Ivan and Milo live in the same city, they are usually busy with their business. This trip was a good bonding time for them.
Taichung City, here we come!
A day will not be complete without a stop at our favorite store, 7-11.
The difference between this trip and the trip to Hualien and Taitong is that there are not many natural scenery. So we settle for urban scenes like this Lexus dealership!
We had a great lunch, dimsum!
We stopped by an art museum and took some pictures.
Then it was coffee time again.
Ester lives in Taiwan. Ivan and Milo live in the Philippines. I live in USA. We had a lot to catch up!
When we were looking for a hotel to stay, Ester found a hotel from the distance. It was a newly renovated hotel. It was small but they used bright colors and mirrors to make it feel roomy. We were ecstatic! After 3 nights of so-so hotel, we finally found a clean, modern and comfortable hotel! It felt like seeing an oasis in the middle of the desert!
After we unloaded our baggage, we headed for the nearby bike trail. We were disappointed. It was a chopped up trail with many local streets. The traffic was heavy.
Aside from the hotel, the highlight of the day also included their art museum.
Milo offered to treat us for dinner. We wanted the famous Wang Ping Steakhouse. The cost of meal was NT 1,400 per person. The wait was 2 hours so we walked away. Milo dodged a bullet! We settled for a cheaper revolving sushi place next door.
Distance covered: 29 km/17 miles
