Day 5 Tan-Ya-Seng Bike Trail 9-30-12

This is our last day on the road. As usual, I woke up early. I went to the lobby and tried to make some notes about the trip. I need to write this blog! I also needed to plan the route for the day. The challenge for the day is to return the bikes at 5:30 pm. We have a bus to catch!

The hotel has a complementary breakfast buffet but it will not start till 7 am. I had some time to kill, so I brought my camera and went for a stroll. These are what I found.

The breakfast was great!

From the hotel, instead of heading from south to northeast, we decided to go to Ta Ya and take the Tan-Ya-Seng Bike Trail. It is a trail that included three districts, Ta-Ya, Seng-Kang and Tan-Tzi. These districts are located at northern Taichung City.

We left the hotel at 10:30 am. We had to be at Fong Yuan at 6:30 pm to catch the bus for Taipei.

Along the way, we found the Museum of Natural Science.

It is a setting for picture taking and some fun!

Milo invited Ester: " Shall we dance?"

Beauty is everywhere. We just need to slow down, stop and "smell the roses"!

Lunch was something new, vegetarian!

Then there was the post meal drink!

It was another hot day and we did not have the right mileage for the route. Also, most locals do not have a clue as where to find the trail.

After many hits and misses, we found the trail. We were supposed to be happy to see the sign for the trail, but we were not. We were tired!

I guess that why we called it an adventure. It would not be an adventure if everything were smooth sailing!

The trail was about 10 km long.

The trail was not perfect, but it is better than fighting the traffic!

When we got to Sheng-Kang, the place suddenly became a "night market"! Ivan got to try the famous "stinky tofu"!

I don't think I had the chance to feature my bike yet. So, here it is. My biking companion for 5 days!

There were a few overpass bridges to climb.

There is nothing wrong with pushing the bike. The goal is to get to the finish line! Just like the rest of our lives...

So far, all of you have been following this adventure from my point of view. I am curious to see what it is like from Ester's point of view!

If there is Ying, there must be Yang. If there is blue, there must be pink!

Finally, we approach the finish line!

We made it!

In 5 days, we rode 175.74 km or 105.44 miles !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We finally got to the bike store at 5:30 pm. We returned the bike, took a cab, went to the bus station and returned to Taipei!

The moon was full. It was a holiday, Full Moon Festival!
